Arrested for Human Trafficking in Tucumán

In the city of San Miguel de Tucumán, a woman was arrested on charges of leading a human trafficking network for the purpose of sexual exploitation, amid the rescue of three young women. The investigation, initiated in December by the provincial justice system in the north, revealed the existence of a group of women forced into prostitution in a house located in the southern area of the Tucumán capital.

During the field investigation, it was found that more than seven girls were subjected to work under the control of a manager, with working hours extending from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The presence of a suspected pregnant woman and a minor was also identified within the establishment.

The operation, led by the Airport Security Police (PSA), culminated in the rescue of three young women who were subsequently assisted through the Victim Support Program for Human Trafficking of the Ministry of Social Development of the Province of Tucumán. Simultaneously, the alleged leader of the organization was arrested.

At the site, investigations were carried out on the mobile phones of the victims, and devices, cash, and relevant documentation for the case were seized. The Federal Prosecutor's Office number 1 of Tucumán, under the direction of Rafael Vehils Ruiz, and the Federal Court number 1 of Tucumán by Legal Subrogation, led by Guillermo Díaz Martínez, were involved in the entire process.
